Canada seems to have a massive uptick in stabbings,I think the only way they are going to reduce violent crime is by implementing a background check and 30 day waiting period before purchasing knifes.

Only those who receive a special permit are allowed to order take out that includes utensils and those under the age of 21 are forbidden to order take out.

There are just to many knifes out there in the wrong hands and actions have to be taken in order to stop the senseless stabbings.

There should also be a law for safe storage of knifes in the household, such as a locked safe where only the parents can have excess to them.

The knife manufacturers should also by law provide a locking safety device on each knife in order to prevent accidental knife injuries.

Knife manufacturers should also be held liable should anybody be harmed by a knife which should also be carried over to the manufacturers of paper.

Because we all know paper also cuts.

All knifes should by law have a serial number imprinted on them so they can be readily traced and prevent ghost knifes that end up in the metropolitan centers and in the hands of criminal groups who are stupid enough to take them to a gun fight.

We all know the only way to reduce crime,is by removing all the tools used in the commission of a crime.

As my good friend McGruff used to say, before he was put down for biting people,if we work together we can all, Take A Bite Out Of Crime.

You might want to add forks to that list. You could take out 4 people at once with one of those.

We will all be dining with plastic sporks soon.

Japanese customs officials who impounded 200 pens more than a year ago said on Friday the writing implements needed a weapons import licence because they were shaped like bullets.

The pens, which are made from a mixture of titanium and other metals, are fashioned to resemble bullets on the non-writing end.
A Nagoya customs official told AFP that under international regulations, the pens are classified as self-defence weapons, adding: “Special procedures are needed for the import of such products.”

Japan has the strictest gun laws in the world, ever notice how countries that have a history of government suppression have the strictest weapons laws?

Wonder what they are afraid of?

At least 19 people were killed and 26 injured in a stabbing spree at a facility for disabled people west of Tokyo, making it one of Japan’s deadliest mass killings since World War II.Nine men and 10 women, ranging in age from 18 to 70, were killed in the attack.

Windsor can do what some cities in the US are doing,do not charge people with crimes, then it becomes easy to say we have a low crime rate.

Richered, as usual, you been watching too many Real Housewifes of Nude Jersey ladily. You guy are enhancing so many readers’ lifes by introducing the notion that knifes are spelt in such an unnorthofdocks way. Please do keep us abused with more of the same humerus writhings.

Wow, that's crazy! I wonder how much worse that is than the worst mass killing in the US since World War II

I guess it is a matter of perspective and how one views things,it goes back to eliminating weapons of choice does not reduce the level of violence.

    Interesting choice of moniker

Take all the lines we can such as; "The sage, by doing nothing, does nothing wrong." and adapting the lines slightly like that to give them a real leaning towards the slacker.

We would then, in not too long have a Tao of absolute laziness loved by stoners, students, slackers and co - hopefully with time a member would take the teachings and see them as an undisputed truth that must be stood up for. With their leadership the whole group will be crystallised around the teachings and they will be seen as the word of God.

When the inevitable happens and the new extremist Tao is seen by its members to be being encroached upon by another group of people, politics or lawmakers, they will fight back.

Being the religious extremists they are they will go to the letter of their doctrine and fight their cause by staying in bed a lot, showing up late for everything, being religiously disorganised and aiming to fail.

The end result being a religious war where a group of disorganised folk don't really get much done. I'd say the body count would be very low.

When it comes to violent crime, homicides are the most certain measure, as relatively few dead bodies are unaccounted for, and lesser violent crimes tend to have fairly fixed rates relative to homicides; though those rates may vary some by jurisdiction.

In 2021, Windsor had its worst homicide rate in several years, with 10 homicides across its 422,000 people.

That gives it a homicide rate of 2.84 for comparison, Dearborn's homicide rate is ~5.3, Detroit is 49.7.

In 2020, the homicide rate for Windsor was 1.42 Its premature to draw conclusions on any trends.
