    Cass Tech student beats chess grandmaster
    A Cass Tech senior beat a chess grandmaster, declaring "check mate."
    Apparently the game was recorded on video but only some of it appears above. The stupid chyron obscures some of the board.

    Charisse was a regular when the Detroit City Chess Club [DCCC] met at the DIA on Fridays pre-pandemic. In the picture below, she is getting sendoff with DCCC creator Kevin Fite prior to traveling to Europe for an international tournament.
