Default #1 Tourist Attraction in Downtown Detroit

My vote is for the Joe Louis Fist and the plaza surrounding it. I work across the street and every time I walk by there are people taking pictures of themselves and the sculpture. Many of the tourists do not speak English as their 1st language.

I believe the City should move the plaque from the west side of the plaza and replace it right in front of the sculpture so people can read about its history. Most people never notice it now.

I'm sure the big tiger in front of Comerica Park is an attraction. Kind of like a monument to the dead and buried.

The Guardian Building and its elegant lobby should be in the running in
    this competition.

The Joe Louis Fist may be a draw, but I see more people taking their pictures in front of the Spirit of Detroit statue. Sometimes there is quite a line to get the photos taken...individuals, couples, families, groups of friends. It's busier than ever with the Spirit Plaza now in place and events happening there nearly every day!

I think more tourists visit the bridge or tunnel.

The Battle of Bloody Run fought during Pontiac's War on July 31, 1763, on what now is the site of Elmwood Cemetery.

Absolutely! Recently took a visiting friend downtown for the afternoon and ended up on the Riverwalk and in the Guardian Building. Two big tourist attractions!!

Also took her to the Belt Alley which she enjoyed...art on the walls, art above, and a place to sit and drink and enjoy. Walking through on another occasion, I was happy to see and hear a visitor exclaiming over the same and shooting pictures in all directions!

I would call those sites destinations that bring visitors to the city. Then while they are here, they visit various tourist attractions around downtown...the Riverwalk, Campus Martius, the Spirit of Detroit, and more.
