Well Tlaib shifted her big wins to far west Detroit, Livonia, Southfield, Dearborn - from former central Detroit positioning: Bye-bye.

Thanedar looks to have swept the 13th against Hollier.

Yep. Hollier got out there too late and could not match Shri's money.

Recall Thanedar spent swept Whitmere in the 2018 Detroit gubernatorial primaries. So he was already known and apparently voted for.

the big takeaway for me is how aggressively partisan PACs are meddling in their opposition's primaries. The DNC running ads for Gibbs, an actual fascist, over Meijer in order to try to draft an easier opponent for the general is playing with fire in a really scary and hubristic way. Conversely, AIPAC pumping money into Stevens and Hollier is similarly broken. We're seeing the billionaire class metagaming elections in new ways and it's leading to more divisive candidates.

Only good thing here was that Tlaib won in a giant landslide. She is an incredible passionate woman, she really cares about working people and this city. We're so lucky to have her.

I also love the politicians that care about the working people, glad she won so the working people can see more homelessness and double cost of living so they can be kept in their places.

She irks me when they keep playing her little snipet on CBS cable.

Reporter - The people are hurting
Talib - Tell them I feel it

Like it’s the reporters job to communicate to your base, you tell them.

At any rate at least you get your potholes fixed, just wait for it,any day now.

As a rule at the moment, progressive cities are not exactly places where people are tripping over themselves to move to,quite the opposite.

Why does anyone give a hoot about what some Florida resident has to say about Detroit or Michigan elections? Especially from an overly verbose Florida resident. Diatribes from this poster are worthless Republican Fox News hot takes and talking points.

Do yourself a favor and look down for a minute, dude. What you see is the ground shifting under your feet after your side of the aisles horrific overreach. Enjoy Florida with your hurricanes, Boomers, shit weather, alligators and massive shoreline flooding that's going to consume the Nation's penis state in a matter of a decade or two.

Alligators are some good eating, your just mad because boomers had the best music, not like the freak show that you call music

Also us boomers have been hearing the world is going to end tomorrow for the past 30 years, but yet here we are, mostly we stick around just to piss you little posers off,it is so easy because you do not have a clue.

Just keep being you,a few cards short and can only follow and never lead, maybe try and lay off of the X for awhile so you can try and return to reality?

DETROIT, MANCHESTER, AND VANCOUVER COULD GO COMPLETELY UNDERWATER.

Funny no mention of Florida there, you are also forgetting that us boomers have disposable income which allows us to buy big boats,so we will not be underwater, just the punks that fell for the ruse.

Disposable income is a foreign concept for you because you believed the lie they told you that everybody should be equally poor in order to be happy.

Maybe that’s why you guys like your nose rings so much,so it is easy to chain you all together in a line like good little sheep incapable of self thought.

If your way is so perfect name one progressive city that is not losing population and investment.

As a boomer we also have patience,so I will wait for you to name one.

And who lost out? Detroit. Their districts are split in two.

Soooo glad Talib and I no longer share a district. I lean left politically but can't stand her. She's not a pragmatist, not a leader, and like the proverbial dog chasing the car, she wouldn't know what to do if she caught it. Her far left policies and statements are what drive people to vote for people like Trump. In any case, she's not my problem any more.

I like both Thanedar and Hollier, I've spoken to them both personally and THEY are what the democratic party needs more of. Both seemed very level headed and committed to ideas that would improve the lives of all constituents regardless of "identity".

AP has an article saying that because of the redistricting, the city of Detroit does not have any African American representation.

Detroit Primary Likely Means No Black Representation For First Time Since 1955

The city of Detroit has not been without a black representative since Charles Diggs Jr. took office in 1955. Based on the results of Tuesday’s primary, the predominately Black city will most likely be without a Black congressperson for the first time in over 65 years, according to the Associated Press.

at least you have Talib to look out for you.

I am still waiting for you to tell me one progressive city that is not losing investment or residents and does not have a homeless and violence crises going on that has escalated in the cities that you wanna be socialists have taken over in the last 2 years.

That has nothing to do with boomers that is all on you and your warped sense of entitlement.

Boomers built cities and had actual jobs, all you guys are doing is progressively destroying everything like a bunch of locusts.

You mentioned Florida and alligators, maybe that is why your little Antifa buddies avoid Florida, alligators have to eat to and they just love the taste of stupid in the morning.

Just like the stupidity of declaring a war on the bikers, seems like you guys are a bit on the weak side when it does not involve women or burning buildings.

You are confusing boomers and political policies that have devastating consequences, maybe try learning the difference first so you actually know who your perceived enemy is.

    So, Gretchmer's a lock?

Why are there only about 2,000 votes for Gov?

    And what happened to Conyers?

  21. #21

    Default

^ Conyers [the son] was always a wash. John Sr. was not able to vet him ala his King Maker powers when Tlaib and others crushed it last time.

So there was little hope this go around. That ship has sailed.

Whitmere will lay low, hoping her issues are forgotten. They probably will be.

Big Gretch is still part of the Mcnamara political machine. You know, the one that gave us Kwame and Jennifer G.

Yes that's the expectation. Fair, spread out districts allow for more Detroit minded leaders, not 'packed' into a few districts. We won't know until the general election and even then it won't be clear what influence district mapping had.

Not all Detroiters are happy with the results...

Detroit will be without Black representation in Congress for the first time in 70 years

A city that is over 80% Black is without representation in Congress as Indian-American Rep. Shri Thanedar split the Black vote, beating two Black candidates

    https://aldianews.com/en/politics/el...w-look-detroit

Primary vote could mean no Black Detroit member in Congress
