Detroit Animal Care And Control [DACC] Updates.

The DACC is not having a good year in 2022! :[[

The Detroit Dog Rescue [DDR] nonprofit is apparently temporarily allowing their adult dogs to be adopted without an adoption fee, and this seems to be so that more can be moved out of the current DACC facility. In the WXYZ article that DDR cited, there seems to be issues both at the current facility and the one that is to be built.

Detroit is the dog fighting and pit bull capital of the world. So, chances are that some dogs have a fate worse than humane death. :[[

As of today the last post on Facebook from DACC about adoptions was in Mid-May.

In June the shelter had a parvo outbreak. Yesterday there was a dryer fire there, fortunately limited to that specific area where it was located, and an evacuation of some of the animals to other shelters. This was on the radio, can't find a link right now.
