Default Google finally updates 3D satellite view of Downtown Detroit to Fall 2021

Looks like Google finally updated the 3D satellite view of Downtown Detroit area recently to fall of 2021. So can see some of the construction of stuff like the Hudson Site, Huntington Tower, City Club Apartments, Woodward West, etc.

And unfortunately it also looks like the update's extent cuts right through the middle of the Gordie Howe Bridge construction zone. The demolished Delray is visible, but not the bridge pillars.

These pictures were taken in autumn too, what must have been close to peak fall colors. Very cool looking!

It also looks like it was captured in the morning or evening, giving everything a nice yellow glow, as opposed to the harsh bright light of the last version.

Just noticed that 3D images on google maps seem to have been updated again for anyone looking to putz around on there.

Judging by the progress of the exchange, images look to be from around september.

Google maps is so crazy... depending on where you are positioned, you will get a different map time. For example... if you locate to directly in front of the Huntington Tower... it shows as a complete building. But if you move around downtown, it will show it at different stages of construction. Looking at it from Comerica Park, it only shows as 3 stories of construction. From other spots it shows it at almost topped off, but still all girders visible. The completed Huntington Tower...

In fact when you move your cursor onto Elizabeth between the Huntington Tower and Francis Palms Building, the old view [before construction ever started] appears... and the Michigan Mutual Annex [which was torn down for the tower] reappears...

And now it appears 3D images on Google Maps have now been updated across most of Metro Detroit, and all taken throughout last summer. At least two things stand out in these updated images: the W Lofts in Wyandotte is complete, and construction at the 12 Mile interchange on I-75.
