Default Sugar Factory American Brasserie Comes To Downtown Detroit

Here is some more good news from Dan Gilbert and Team Rocket.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/comp...?ocid=msedgntp

It will inside the Meridian Building on the corner of Woodward Ave. And Monroe St. where the former Hard Rock Cafe used to be.

Proposed to be open around Spring, stay tuned.

This restaurant looks incredibly trashy and bizarre to me. But if the masses like it....

^ Awesome! Looks like this thread needs to be merged with the other one on the same subject.

While I was hoping a Waffle House could go in that spot, this restaurant seems adequate.

    Just kidding.

This is quite an ambitious endeavor. 233 seat capacity, open for breakfast/lunch/dinner, a candy retail store, an Instagram-worthy wall - there is a lot going on here. It should employ alot of people and hopefully be a destination

You can't get a $21 milkshake at Waffle House! Very limited and pricey menu. I guess we're never going to get our Cheesecake Factory. Would have been a better choice.

This is the perfect fit for a location this prominent. Like Hard Rock [[when it opened at least), it's a destination restaurant that will bring people into the city specifically to eat, drink, and spend money here.

Another win for Bedrock and Detroit, keeping downtown moving.

The perfect stop for a milkshake after a shopping trip to Gucci.

I have never even heard of them before, thanks to this, apparently there is one down the street from me in the Hard Rock casino, maybe it will give me an excuse to go into the casino, which I have never been in.

I will have to see if their $21 shake is any different then WaWa’s $6 shake which is on the way, their hamburger prices seem to be about the same as 5 guys but cheaper then Fords Garage.

I think Detroits gonna have a “sugar rush”
    Is this a coincidence?

You can add this to the list as well, Momento Gelato that recently opened in Elton Park in Corktown.

I'm not doubling up on my Metformin prescription daily dosage to try a $21 milk shake...

It just doesn't look like a healthy place to eat. Just checked out a Yelp rating at one of their other locations...

"It's a loud and exciting party all night long. Every time someone orders a King Kong sundae or has some other celebration, the lights go down, they blast the music, and then the lights start flashing and all the servers dance and celebrate while delivering the sundae."

Oh boy... let's keep America "chunky"....

It'll probably be a fun place for the youngin's...

Lots of spin-off business for Henry Ford and DMC cardiac depts. I'd put a happy face here but sadly, it's true. People will go to great lengths to prevent covid, which they should, but continue to kill themselves because they're too lazy to eat properly, exercise, stop smoking and drink less.

^ my luck I will come back reincarnated as a fly in a pesticide factory,if you only live once, what’s the point of if you cannot enjoy the ride as long as you are here?

Everything in moderation is not bad for you, those little moments of pleasure is what makes the world go round.

It could be worse and be throwing a Mickey d or BK or even scrape the bottom of the barrel with a Taco Bell.

My first thought too. Like an upscale Farrell's for adults who never outgrew this sort of thing [[and now have the dough to indulge themselves). Complete with kitschy adult beverages.
