Thought I recognized you. You the urchin with the trolly stick, right?
Is that Mt. Elliot in the background?
interesting photo... we see the beautiful Majestic Building, sadly torn down in the 1960s to be replaced by 1001 Woodward Ave. And in the distance we can see the steeples of Central Methodist and St. John Churches, partially hidden by the mature trees of Grand Circus Park. On the right side we can see part of the old Detroit Opera House on Campus Martius.
Also on the right you can see that the original Pontchartrain is being built. Someone knows better but I think the Pontch was opened in 1906 and demolished by 1920 to make way for the First National Building.
Some of the buildings seen just above the streetcars are still standing on the block between Congress and the First National Building.
1943, Jefferson at the bottom, Woodward in the center. The Avenue theater is still there but I don't see any others.
Queen Anne Soap must have been quite the thing.
Moonlight towers!! 2 of 'em, plain as day. A new-fangled horseless carriage [[or 2?) on the right. And some cheap railroad tickets too.
