Interpreting "national day of service...and remembrance"

National=for the nation, for the state...nationalism. The opposite of government for the people and by the people. Individuals [[their liberty) are not the central value, rather the State is.

Day of=self explanatory.

Service= Too whom? By whom? By the individual too the state. If voluntary, that is acceptable, if imposed by authority, that is fascist dictatorship with the philosophy of statism and collectivism to justify it...an extreme of socialism [[as is communism). Whose authority? Obama.

Stutter, stammer, whispered :and remembrance"= and afterthought, unimportant to the speaker.

So what do we have here? A person who believes himself to be a benevolent, [[erroneously believed) patronizing authoritarian dictator of what he hopes to be a totalitarian collectivist socialist state.

Cut from the same mold as? Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Chavez, Hussein, and Castro.

And there you have it, this is what we, proud and free Americans voted for...now it is time to correct this grave mistake.

Nationalism exists on a continuum. Or are you saying that any natinalistic feeling is a marker of fascism?

Would you equate patriotism with nationalism? Don't they spring from the same roots?

Stretching the point beyond absurdity. Service to others, as in helping people. But as an Objectivist, you would consider that an evil weakness.

There is absolutely no evidence to support your flight of fancy that "service by the individual to the State" was intended or implied; that's just your personal bias showing through.

Presuming motives of others is akin to trying to read someone's mind [[not your own). In this case, someone considered an enemy to the presuming party.

This type behavior easily becomes mystical in nature. It also removes independence from the derided individual.

If you take this statement by Obama in isolation, I could see the point of criticising my interpretation as extreme. However, in context with his history and thinly veiled philosophy, I AM DEAD ON ACCURATE.
