Man loses job over drone video of police officer shooting dog

A man lost his job after recording a video of an encounter between Inkster police and another man where a dog was shot and killed.
    Here's an unusually multifaceted story.

You have to admire the officer's reflexes. On the other hand it's possible to be too reflexive. I would have risked a brief dog bite with gun drawn rather than pull the trigger before contact.

I'm left wondering what motivated the employer to fire Williams. He seems a perfect fit for the security job. It was his drone and his video. Maybe it occurred while he was on the clock? Even so, it seems the employer had no interest in the incident. Did police ask that Williams be fired?

Note also that if the dog had been on a leash this wouldn't have happened.

Certainly an unusual story. I’m sorry that trigger happy cop killed the dog needlessly. The tail-wagging dog was clearly no threat and anyone should have been able to see that.
