BMF TV Series is on STARZ Sundays at 10PM

The series follows the Black Mafia Family’s [[Demetrius and Terry Flenory) drug organization starting from their humble beginnings in the Boynton neighborhood of Southwest Detroit in the mid to late 1980’s. The characters are loosely based on real people who are still living so some names are changed to avoid their incarceration. A few days after the series premiere episode it was already renewed for a second season.

The last episode comes on this upcoming Sunday and the series is much better tan any of STARZ’ Power series and it’s spin-offs so far. I always find it interesting to watch shows based on Detroit or the metro area [[ex. Hung, Detroiters, Home Improvement, etc.) Any thoughts on the series from viewers?

It’s going to be like the white boy movie,drama made for television.

If you really want to know,Vlad TV has interviews with the actual players that were there and there is a stark difference in what was being said in the news and on the documentaries.

Vlad was a well known DJ that does in depth interviews with mob guys,rappers,kingpins that like to reminisce about the good old days in detail.

Considering Detroit was the 2nd largest heroin market in the entire country,there were lots of players looking to cash in,a couple of the interviews give more details about a certain politicians niece and the real story behind that.

Stark contrast between Detroit and Miami,two cities that had hundreds of millions in illicit monies flowing through them,one did nothing but leave a destroyed city in its wake,while another built a city.

I think the only person in the drug trade that did it smart and hit the 60 million a month target,without the violence and destruction ,was,Jorge Valdez,everybody else that hit that level spent a majority of their time in prison and did little else to help rebuild the communities that they helped destroy.

Everybody else was just overrated or over glorified thugs,people were doing 500k deals without even carrying a gun,there was no need to,then the thugs got involved and destroyed it all and everything it touched.

It’s already out and it is nothing like the cheesy White Boy Rick film. It’s actually pretty good.

I disagree on the details about DJ Vlad interviews, a lot of the people you mention are very careful about what they say because a lot of his interviews have been linked to Law Enforcement indictments so you won’t get a lot of info from that. He has interviewed Johnny Curry as well as Big Meech and Sosa from BMF but you didn’t really learn much other than what’s already public knowledge. If you want interviews where the people feel comfortable enough to discuss past incidents then you might want to check out Doc Hicks and Al Profit’s American Dope on YouTube. They’re both from Detroit and have a history with some of these individuals already, Vlad does not.

Scott Burnstein also has the Original Gangsters podcast where they interview people as well and discuss the Detroit Italian mob as well.
