Taylor Wins Little League World Series

Congratulations to the Taylor North Little League Team playing as the Michigan representative in the Little League World Series. Michigan just defeated Ohio [<-gotta love that too] 5-2 in the final game. Taylor is the first Detroit and Michigan team to win since Hamtramck pulled it off in 1959.

Coincidentally, it was 62 years ago today that the legendary Art "Pinky" Deras led Hamtramck to the 1959 Little League World Series title. There's a nicely done documentary about Pinky and that team.

I watched the final. Taylor has some good hitters [[unlike the Tigers all weekend). These 2 teams seemed physically smaller than recent years. The past few years there were some kids around 6 ft. 170 lbs. on both the American and Int'l teams.
