Now its time for the long awaited Chick-fil-A to open since it's been announced this past winter that they would open by summer

Does anyone has any update on thr Apple Store that is opening downtown? It appear that work had halted on the site. Also, does anyone have any information to when Chick-fil-A will open? It's been almost a year since the building out had started. All of the restaurants the were proposed to open at the time of the NFL Draft had opened but Chick-fil-A wasn't one of them

When the announcement was made they said May or June would be the opening. Red tape tied it up and the COA from the HDC wasn't even issued until late June.

Hopefully we see things come together this winter.

Red tape had always been the issue with the timely opening of national chained retail and restaurants in Detroit. I learned that through talking to managers of these businesses over the past 10 years. I was wondering this past summer if Chik-fil-A would open being that competitive food trucks selling chicken strips, sandwiches, and other items that Chik fil a sells. They could had made a killing especially during the tree lighting event and the upcoming holidays. It appear that the city of Detroit will allow some businesses to open in timely manner while others are stalled on their developments. Gilbert really doesnt have a say in it
