Default Are the Tigers selling single tickets for games this season?

I went to the Tigers' website to order a ticket for a game in their early April series against Minnesota. It appears that
you can only purchase two or more tickets. Has MLB or
the Tigers adopted a new policy of not selling a single ticket
to a person who wants to attend a game or am I confused
about using their website? Will single tickets be sold at the
box office the day of the game?
    Thank you

I would think it's because they are limited to selling about 8,000 per game and want to reach that number by selling 2-4 tickets per purchase in order to reach the number easier and spread the fans around the park. For every single ticket they sell they basically have to leave the next 4 seats empty in all directions. I'm certain if they haven't sold to capacity on game day, which might be the case weekdays in April, you could buy an individual ticket. Easiest way to find out of course is just call the box office tomorrow.

Forgive a slight thread jack. I find it a bit puzzling that despite the inability for purchase of massive amounts of tickets, the goofy players and the goofy owners are still offering multi-million dollar contracts to even their marginal players.

It's my view that these athletic salaries have gone far enough.

Boycott, I say. Don't give them a dang penny. And boycott their television advertisers.

    Problem solved.

Ray, you've posted this about 100 times. Your inability to understand how basic economics work boggles the mind. Let's try again. TV stations get viewers, which in turn leads to advertisers. These advertisers pay money to the tv stations. The tv stations then bid against each other and pay teams to show the programming. The rest of the money teams get come from tickets, concessions, parking, merchandise, internet and other revenue streams. After they pay the players millions of dollars there is still millions of profits left over as well as increased value of their franchise [that's the team]. The fans are not forced to go to the games anymore than people are forced to go watch a bad movie, play the slot machine at the casino or buy an expensive meal. This is called the capitalist system. It's been around for a while. It's the worst system of gov't there is except for every other one.

I haven't given a dime to any sports team or event since the first player's strike.

I was angry about Comerica Park for long time. I'm over it now but the Tigers suck so bad. Summer nights at the ballpark are pretty good.

I will add this link to some data for Ray. The amount of money being paid for the broadcasting rights to sports is increasing exponentially. It doesn't mean you have to watch a minute of it Ray, but the fact remains it is a huge growth industry.

'Rights' and advertising is about 85% or more of why I turned the TV off so many years ago.

Thank you, Danny. This means that I can walk up to the box office and
buy one ticket realizing that there will be distancing rules in operation.
    Thank you.
