Default Covid-19 Vaccination at TCF Center

Kudos to the City of Detroit Health Department! Received shot #1 this morning. The operation was incredibly well-organized and very efficient. Got in line [[in my car) at 7:30 a.m. for my 8:00 a.m. appointment and was through the entire process and back on the road at 8:30 a.m.

Many thanks to all the workers who were very professional and helpful. And, no, the shot didn't hurt, although my upper arm is a bit sore now.

If you qualify, I highly recomend you get an appointment and get your vaccination. They are utilizing Moderna - 2 shots 30 days apart.

It's not often that Detroit's government is a leader in providing impeccable service to the community. Everything from testing to vaccinations has been handled the right way by the city. The testing sites have been incredibly efficient, having people in and out within minutes. Now the vaccination site is getting people in and out incredibly quick with less than a week between scheduling and shots in arms. I had a 6pm appointment for the vaccine, showed up at 5:40 and was out of TCF by 6:15.

On the other hand, family and friends around the state are struggling to win the Walgreens/Meijer vaccine lotto. My 70 year old father with heart disease can't get a vaccine despite being registered through 7 commercial entities. It's a mess.

Props to Detroit, Mayor Duggan, and Denise Fair.

I was in the Henry Ford and Beaumont lotteries with no response.

IMHO the only way this will move forward is with mass vaccination sites like CoD's TCF site.

I agree. Got my first shot 1/18 and my second 2/8 and both times I was in and out within an hour of my appointment. Way more activity for the second shot, but still the whole process ran very smoothly.

Glad to hear that it’s working well. I’m also pleased with the church clinic idea, which hopefully will help reduce the hesitation to get vaccinated that some African Americans have.

Yay Duggan for Mayor of Detroit!

He never downplays the pandemic. He makes sure that Detroit seniors and front line workers are given a Covid-19 shot.

2nd shot this morning @ TCF Center. Ran as smoothly as the 1st shot. Very well organized. Many thanks to the City of Detroit.

Kind of frustrated at some of the people I know getting vaccinated there by stretching the truth.
