    Default Welcome to Biden world

Yeppers you knew this was coming.

So did the caravan of 5000 that has left Honduras after he announced that within the first 10 days he will be providing amnesty to illegal aliens.

The previous administration had worked a deal with those countries that in exchange for the 100s of millions that they receive from the United States taxpayers, they had to control their borders.

Unfortunately this time around they overpowered them with violence and are heading this way,can only imagine what happens when they hit the border, but then again they were invited so it may be different.

Stark difference in how the state media treats everything Biden as pixie dust and unicorns, versus the hostile environment that they perpetuated during the last 4 years.

Kinda like Harris who said she was in fear at the capital building.

It shows the disconnect, thousands of Americans were living in the fear daily during the riots that she encouraged all summer long, and she had no issues with that.

Even some of my dyed-in-the-wool Biden supporting friends are questioning his obedient move to allow in more refugees, and new policies re. illegals.

This is just not the time [[duh!), but to say that is to evoke Trump...... and therefore align as a white supremacist, xenophobe, racist, etc.

Harris also promised this morning an immediate goal of 100 million rona virus shots,I wonder where she thinks she will pull those out of in a matter of weeks.

But it is probably the first time in this country’s history where we have had a puppet regime at the top.

Well, since near the end of Woodrow Wilson's term, anyway.

Excellent point Ray. Wilson gave brought back conscription, created the Federal Reserve, and created the Federal Income tax. Wilson's federal income taxes were just a foot in the door.

In 1913, the top tax bracket was 7 percent on all income over $500,000 [[$11 million in today’s dollars); and the lowest tax bracket was 1 percent.

As Will Rogers said: “The difference between death and taxes is death doesn't get worse every time Congress meets.”

    Default beans and pork

That's what pork and beans should be called because it is all beans except for the little piece of pork at the top of the can. The pork probably doesn't amount to more than 1% of the volume. The main ingredient should be listed first.

PE Biden is promoting his $1.9T "American Rescue Plan." "Biden is pushing for the big steps he says are needed to address immediate needs and control the coronavirus pandemicRescue Plan." -CNN The 'control the corona virus pandemic' part is sort of like the pork in the beans and pork. There isn't much of it. "The plan calls for investing $20 billion in a national vaccination program" That's the corona virus vaccination part. $20B/$1.9T = 1% The rest actually is pork.

I don't mind the $15/hour wages as long as new import taxes are established to offset all the $15/hour jobs that will otherwise be heading to Asia and Mexico. $15/hour will at least spur new technologies to offset high wages. McDonald's self ordering kiosks, self driving vehicles, and the like will replace many $15/hour jobs in time. We'll all get good at scanning our own vegetables in the grocery store.

    Fact check:

The 16th Amendment was ratified in February 1913 — one month before Wilson’s inauguration. It was introduced in 1909 and ratified four years later. Wilson may have supported it but he didn’t create it.

Wilson was a racist. There are many things to dislike about him. But he didn’t’ create the income tax. He created the Second Polish Republic and the first Czechoslovak Republic.

I don't believe I mentioned the 16th. Amendment. One thing good about this was that pursuant to the 10th. Amendment, the Constitution was amended to create this income tax as it was a power not delegated to Congress by the Constitution. Today's progressives don't bother to amend the Constitution when they choose to assume powers not delegated by the Constitution.

"Wilson signed the bill into law on October 3, 1913. The RevenueAct of 1913 lowered average tariff rates from 40 percent to 26 percent. It also established a one percent tax on income above $3,000 per year; the tax affected approximately three percent of the population." -Wikipedia

Wilson signed the nation's first federal income tax into law.

You bring up a good point. What determines what should go into the constitution and what should not?

The age of drinking? The use of Schedule 1 illegal drugs, etc. We could have ended up with 100 Amendments to the Constitution if our politicians so desired.

The 18th Amendment prohibited Alcohol in 1919, and the 21st Amendment cancelled that out in 1933.

Looks like the last attempt at adding an amendment was the failed Equal Rights Amendment, which expired unratified in 1982.

Logically both major parties are in the same boat when it comes to adding amendments, instead using the legislative route for laws.

You are right except that laws cannot violate the Constitution unless the Supreme Court allows it. The Constitution gives states broad latitude to legislate powers not delegated to the federal government. States have every right to establish broad healthcare programs for instance although the federal government could amend the Constitution to do the same thing. In addition, states often agree on things among themselves like accepting each others professional credentials, licenses and in-state tuition rates. If 20 blue states each separately agreed to the same universal health care model and honoring each others plans, it would be another way of achieving universal healthcare without amendments or federal Republicans impeding it.

Another caveat is that the federal government has the final word on interstate and foreign matters. Eisenhower and Congress justified the interstate highway system as a defense project allowing military and other supplies to flow rapidly for in wars and national emergencies.

^^ Some Amendments do very little, but are still the law of the land. I was just reading up on the 20th Amendment, which will be in effect on Inauguration day. That was the change to when Presidents, and Congress takes office. Starting in 1789 it used to be March 4, in order to give the people time to get their households together and lumber [[via carriage or shipping) their goods to the Capital.

Then in 1933, the 20th Amendment passed that moved up the date [[due to faster transportation methods) to Jan. 3 for Congress, and Jan. 20 for President/Vice President.

I bet a lot of people today are thankful that we don't have to wait until March 4.

I believe there was an income tax during the Civil War. But it seems unfair that only peons pay it. Billionaires dodge it like a draft.

Lincoln did a lot of things that challenged the Constitution. He did institute the first national draft and as you suggest, rich people could buy their son's way out of the draft for a price. It's ironic that in the process of ending slavery Lincoln created a measure of involuntary servitude - both made unconstitutional with the 13th Amendment. Note: the Supreme Court later chose not to define serving involuntarily as involuntary servitude. The most recent round of conscription did not let anyone buy their son out of the draft but rich people often went doctor shopping to find a doctor or shrink who would document that their son had a medical deferment. Some things don't change as much as they get a different accent.

^^^ Indeed. It's going to be an interesting, long grocery list -- including a few stops off at the ole' butcher shop!

Leaving 'expectant' pantries barren, yet the Sub-Zero elite model refrigerators and custom kitchens fully stocked.

Its payday for those who paid for Joe's campaign. They want to be paid off right away. Sure, it will suppress American wages and trillions will be added to the debt but Americans have short memories and will have time to forget such things by the mid term election. By then we will need job programs and no one will question where the old jobs went, the debt is up to $34T or why gas is $5/gallon. The corporatist press and censorship will restrict aberrant idea. Maybe D,C, and Puerto Rico can provide enough Senators to control the Senate Biden [[pun, couldn't resist it, sorry). I don't think it will be anywhere as bad as Venezuela's fall though.

Been watching Fox News for your slant on Biden? Maybe you should give him a chance, unless your mind is already made up and don't want to be confused with the facts...

Don't forget Trump and his bromance with Putin... I wonder if we'll ever find out what blackmail Putin has on Trump in order to get him to be so pro-Russia.

And don't forget that Biden has a LOT of fence mending to do in Europe... Trump has pissed everone off there except Boris Johnson.

People forget how much contempt much of the world has for Trump... but this image with Trump and his little princess sitting where she has no business at the G20 summit... gives us some sense of the dislike there is towards Trump among world leaders. What a freakshow that family has turned out to be...

Kinda like the freak show of the democrats where they sell out the country to China.

No problem when members of the democrat party are literally banging and employing Chinese spy’s.

Then there is that what aboutism,is that not what you called it?

You are comfortable with your party members being on the foreign intelligence committee while banging and employing Chinese spies, and continue to do even after being told by the FBI that they were spies?

Let me guess, they were just searching for deep knowledge into the CCP?

What are the odds of somebody on the foreign intelligence committee, just tripped and fell and it just happened to be on a CCP spy?

You see and keep reading about the contempt the world has for Trump,I guess you see the world as flat because you fail to see the other side where he has a lot of supporters worldwide.

    1.3 billion in India alone.

Thats the problem when you only watch the state run news, they only show you what they want you to see.

That is your leftist problem, you have always made it about the man and never about the country or his policies that people support worldwide.

Still hung up on that whole fake Russian collusion theory that they sucked you into I see.

If you took off the blinders you will see that Trump has placed more sanctions on Russia then any other president and gave the Ukraine military means to protect themselves from a Russian take over that Obama refused to do.

The world knows Biden and Obama as they were, wet noodles.

Kisses and roses do not win the hearts and minds of thugs.

Rocket man has been silent for the last couple of years,as soon as he thought Biden was going to be in office,he already declared that he was going to continue and ramp up his nukes and nobody is going to stop him.

Because you guys have been so narrowly focused on Trump hate you have not noticed or cared that he has kept the lid on a powder keg of a world.

They already know based on the Benghazi thing that under Biden it will be just like under Obama, when the chips are down they will not have your back and you are just collateral damage.

Obama was a traitor to this country and military because he told the enemy the exact time and place where missile strikes were going to be and gave the enemy time to run.

That is an impeachable offense, next in line.

The world knows that Biden is weak when it comes to forceful actions.

He will give billions to foreign governments though,as long as the state department collects his commission and drops it off in the correct offshore account.

Thats why he liked the Ukraine so much, they were not exactly choosy on who deposited what into their banking system and provided a very good washing system.

I think it's a shame that politicians have to hand out money to foreign countries and screw over their own workers to be "popular".

  25. #25

    Default

That’s what came out of the whole Ukraine hearings.

All of that had little to do with quid pro quo,Trump was pushing to have accountability to where and why the money was being sent and to make sure it was being spent where it was requested for.

That impeachment charade was telling him to stop trying to kill the goose that lays the golden egg.

Ambassadors tell the state department that they need to send billions to a country in the name of humanity, state department cuts the check.

3/4 of those countries are run on the kick back system as a way of life, nothing happens anywhere unless somebody gets their envelope.

Thats how politicians go into office with a 3 million net worth and come out with a 300 million net worth.

    But both sides do it.

Look at the last stimulus package, millions for gender study in Pakistan while Americans are standing in the unemployment line.

Being gay in Pakistan is illegal and they throw people in jail for it,let alone anybody confused as to what their sexual orientation is,anybody actually believes that they are excepting those millions of dollars for gender studies is insane.

Their position on gender studies is to jail you and beat you with a pipe until you admit that that thing between you legs makes your gender a male.

End of the gender study class.

    Shows where priorities lie.

I was approached a few years back to purchase 3 million lbs of American grass feed beef for a military contract over there,58% of the total figure was kickbacks to make it happen,I never did it and the country was placed on the sanction list shortly after that for other reasons, but the clearance through the state department that was needed, was just as sketchy.
