Default Thousands gather in Brighton for tea party protest on government spending

    http://detnews.com/article/20090908/...nment-spending

The Livingston County Democratic Party organized a health care reform rally in opposition of the tea party. They were dwarfed by tea baggers holding signs, such as "life is short, deficits last forever," "No more change. We're broke" and "Give me liberty, don't give me debt."

A few dozen health care reformers lined up along Grand River holding signs and chanting "health care now."

    Best chance for our future:
Morgen, 11, had one suggestion for President Obama: "Read the Constitution," she said.

So funny, have you ever seen an employed person on one of those union thug sponsored democrap socialsist buses? Hell no. They are the dregs that are the rent-a-mobs of the goons.

By their nature, those people that are supporting Republican causes not only have jobs, they are the ones who probably own and are tryinig to keep their small businesses out of the hands of the likes of Stosh.

Hard to do with Obama's brown shirts beating them up at any given opportunity. Mussolini lives

So Brighton has welcomed the Fascist Loon Wagon of rent-a-thugs.

Charming. How much were they paid? Or are they there out of "conviction?"

    LOL!!!

Just another frothing band of phony outrage from the lunatic right fringe.

And he's writing here disguised as an Irishman. Who knew?

Goon rent-a-mob? Yep. Just scare the olds. Threaten them with some vague stuff. They'll show up. You guys should be ashamed of yourself. Rush and Hannity and the rest will have a special place in hell for destroying the serenity of these oldtimer's golden years with your lies.

Anyone here notice that the tea baggers aren't arrested and persecuted under the Dem's the way that folks whose children were killed in Iraq were under Bush?

Kind of tells you which party is arrogant and evil now, doesn't it?

Got a pretty good idea of that 72. How many children died in detroit under Kwame?

We only have a hint of ONE under his direct command, but that is a rumor.

Loads more with the wars falsely created by the folks running the previous administration.

    What's your point?!

I think Irish is a staunch Bush apologist and he felt the need to defend his messiah from a perceived attack by the opposition.

I find it ridiculous these idiots are protesting government spending on bailouts resulting from the lack of oversight and enforcement by previous administrations. Even more ridiculous was the lack of protests at the outset of the previous adminstration starting a war costing thousands of American and tens of thousands of Iraqi lives, over 8 years and many trillions of dollars. Hippies of the 60's were nor more deluded than these people are, no matter the mind altering substances the Hippies ingested. What is it that's so outrageous? I'm not defending the spending of this administration. I'm pissed too. Especially the corporate bailouts. But, did we have much choice? Now we have a chance to do some good for our country - major reform of the most fucked up health care system in the world, with a real payback over time, and these idiots decide to protest. What was it about a WAR that couldn't get them off their asses?

The same folks that are afraid of wasteful government spending are the same folks who are afraid of terrorists and would be the first to protest if the government scales back financially its efforts to defeat those same terrorists. Where was their "phony outrage" when President Bush escaladed government spending to fight terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan? These Tea Party clowns are cry babies who soon will be seen by the majority of Americans as a small and angry group of citizens who still can't accept that their candidate lost in the presidential election, thus the reason I, for now, call them cry babies.

..says an 11 year old to a constitutional law expert. "Interpret the Constitution correctly" may have been more accurate, but less flashy, for her argument.

    Best chance for our future...
If so, I hope 2012 is real...

You're correct [[for once). The number of racists and partisans in this country is still staggering.

People just don't like having a Black President, and others are partisans first and Americans second.

    Couldn't be more obvious.

I noticed that too East Detroit. Personally, I can't wait until we get a real Black president, like JCWatts.

Racism is the bottom line here.

They don't want a black man speaking to their children.

They don't want to acknowledge that Bush is the real "socialist" by starting us down this road to coroprate bailouts/give-aways, and bascially will scream and shout on anything this president proposes, so to hell with them, they are the minority, and they choose to start a food fight- let them throw things at each other.

Where were these tea baggers when Bush Jr. gave a trillion dollar subsidy to wealthy people, who most certainly didn't need the money? Where's the economic benefit we were supposed to get from that?

We might have deficits now, but without that spending we'd have:

    No financial system.
    No manufacturing sector.

So, we get a choice of temporary deficit spending, or a third-world economy. Take your pick, dirt farmers.

    temporary deficit spending
What do you find temporary about the spending being done by this clown?

Of course, there was the choice of tax cuts across the board that would have provided immediate capital infusion into the economy and free up investment dollars for small businesses that generate the vast majority of jobs in this country. A choice with immediate "stimulative" results and without the long tern deficit spending attached to Obamas plans.

Instead of cash for clunkers, they could have offered $4500 tax credits to anybody purchasing an American car leaving the "clunkers" for low income charities that provide cars for people that need to get to a starter job. Instead, we destroyed existing value of used cars and provided the majority of the funds to Kia, Hyndai and Toyota.

    Third world economy?
He is basing his entire economic policy on mimicing third world economies...

This whole country will be in the shade of his ghettopalmetto when he is done.

Are you arguing that the Bush Tax Cuts for Billionaires did not account for any deficits whatsoever?

Are you arguing that the Bush Tax Cuts produced economic growth? Let's see the numbers.

Where are all the investments that were made with the money "freed up" by the Bush Tax Cuts? Oh wait, that whole real estate bubble thing....

When you get a chance, pick up a basic text on macroeconomics.

I'm not going to spoon-feed you information. You're responsible for your own education, or lack thereof.

I'm not trying to make an argument. I'm questioning the validity of your premise. You make the claim, you back it up like a man. Otherwise, expect to be dismissed as an ignorant fool.
