Default The DetroitYES Community--Where Are we From?

All over...according to locations volunteered during new member registration. Obviously anyone could have put anything in and I suspect it is likely many used Detroit to indicated where they are from meaning Metro Detroit, as one might do when out of town where no one would likely have heard of their tiny burb.

Never saw the survey, but I don't do surveys, so it wouldn't have mattered. I'm pretty sure there are more than 32 of us in the 'rest of the world'. And yeah, I'm here just to more or less keep track of the old place.

Actually, I'm in the City of Henderson, not Las Vegas. Henderson is the 2nd largest city in Nevada. Surprised? Just sayin'.

Um... what survey? When you register with DYes, you give Lowell some location information about yourself. All he did was put that into a location table.... you're in there... no survey was ever involved...

    Gistok.....

I was wondering the same. I know I've been here forever and maybe Lowell didn't collect info during the dark ages. BTW, I'm in the other Washington [[NOT D.C.)and have been since '76. Grew up in Ferndale [[FHS '66) if that counts for anything.

I'm in Australia [[City of Sydney) and I visit friends in Detroit and Bay City whenever possible, usually after a few days stop-over in L.A. or Las Vegas. Covid-19 has made it a lot more difficult.

It was Lowell's "Fabulous Ruins Of Detroit" photos that first attracted me.

Never lived in Milford, but was in that town in my young and middle years during most of the summer fishing in Pettibone Lake, just to the north [[or it's outflow, Moore Lake). Great largemouth fishing. Miss it greatly.

I know Henderson well, Ray. My sister's best friend moved there years ago when it was a much smaller place.

It's probably the best place in the whole Las Vegas valley area. Alas, it is getting "too big for its britches".

Lowell, I am either being persnickety or reflecting that I am a former geography major with a penchant toward noticing patterns. I was wondering how many of your registered Detroit Yes members lived in Madison, WI.

I Googled 'Madison, MI' and found there was 'Madison Charter Township' about 40 miles SW of Detroit. There is also 'Madison Heights" within the Metro Detroit section. Either Madison Charter Township should be in the outstate column, Madison Heights needs to to include 'Heights' or Madison, WI is in in the wrong column.

I don"t even see Madison WI in the lists. Just Milwaukee in the Greater American Cities list.

It could well be that Madison WI has fewer than 5 former Detroiters listed but those other listings of Madisons in MI didn't quite make sense either. Something is amiss. I remain a loyal geography student of Prof. Wm. Bunge of Wayne State.

If the member wrote "Madison" there is no way of Lowell knowing which Madison they live in. It's taken from either registration or what people enter in their profile.
