Default Majestic Theater Complex [[nearly entire block) For Sale...

I'm surprised this has not been reported yet, but the Majestic Theatre complex [[including the theatre, the Garden Bowl, Magic Stick music venue, Alley Deck and Bar, and Sgt. Pepperoni's Pizzaria) are all for sale.

    https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/...sted-for-sale/

When the Majestic Theatre opened in 1915 [[1,651 seats) it had a classic Pompeiian style with Venetian facade. And in the 1930s when they widened Woodward, the front 30 ft. of the building [[including lobby) was shorn off and a new Art Deco metalwork facade was added.

In 2018 the original Marquee and portions of the theatre facade were restored [[removal of the "Lee Press-On Bricks") in a million dollar restoration. But the family that owned the building was thinking about selling it anyway... the pandemic just made that decision easier. No price is given.

The only part of the original "stadium seating" theatre to survive today is the ceiling... with its' oval plasterwork...

    It should be saved.
In a more thriving economy that would be obvious.
    In Detroit for our memories,
For our better futures are there enough optimists?

The recent owners have the historic bowling alley Garden Bowl next the building. The new owners MUST save that whole building.

The "recent" owners are the same owners for the last 50 years.
