Default My deer hunt on Belle Isle

This happened circa 1979 on the first night of regular firearms season for deer. Several buddies and I bought sacks of chili dogs at Lafayette Coney Island, drove over to Belle Ilse, and stopped by a woods -- I believe it was along Central Ave. We got out the car and began eating chili dogs. It was not long before a group of deer showed up. Belle Isle deer apparently love the smell of chili dogs though they have more sense than to eat them. We didn't have firearms or any intention to harm them. We just wanted to see some deer on opening day.
