    Default Detroit urban farming

I found this map describing the "Pingree farms" of 1896...mostly potatoes we've come to believe, but I'm sure other veggies as well. They are all on the outskirts of development at this time. Would love to see a map of the urban farms in 2020 to compare. Anyone have access to our current urban farming efforts?

I have been reading the New York Times during the WWII years and am in 1943 when rationing has just take full hold. A similar curiosity I have, and suspect there is far less chance of an answer, is how much of Detroit was cultivated with Victory Gardens.

My ma was born [[1916) & raised on Medbury 2nd block from Packards. I recall her speaking of a Victory Garden, not sure if it was on Medbury or like around the corner. Fuzzy brain cells are suggesting to me she spoke of it being on a lot where a house burnt down. She helped her ma there, as my grandma stayed on Medbury until she passed in 1947.
