    Default David Stott Tower

According to the Detroit News the refurbishment of the David Stott tower is complete in downtown Detroit. Almost 90 years after the building was opened way back in the early part of the 20th century. We can thank Bedrock for this effort and I'm almost positive the demand for high rise residential in regards to this building is a contributor to the dramatic change in the Hudson Block development and also the significant delay in whatever is built on the Monroe Block development. Maybe just not enough demand for high price condos and rentals in downtown Detroit.

Monroe block has no condos and no residential in the main tower so that doesn't make sense.

Yeah, the lack of interested commercial tenants is what has effectively killed the Monroe plan for the time being.

A small supermarket downtown is a must if you want people to live there. It wouldn't have to be superstore. The upscale Plum Market is a very nice addition but not very practical for real grocery shopping. A small Trader Joe's or Kroger would be great.

I don't think that's the reason. Maybe they didn't find an anchor tenant but downtown's office market is the healthiest it's been in decades. It's also obvious Quicken plans to occupy a good amount of the building. The issue is construction costs.
