Default First '20 Corvette Stingray Jacked Before they go on Sale

I know Corvettes have the reputation of being the most stolen car, total thefts greater than the number made I have read, but this one is almost humorous.

"On Thursday, just days after a man spent $3 million for rights to the first Corvette C8 expected off the line in February, Car and Driver shared a photo of the car on cinder blocks in Detroit's West Village neighborhood.

"The vehicle was part of the test fleet that a Chevrolet employee was driving, said Kevin Kelly, senior communications manager for the company.

"Employees testing the engineering vehicles can take the cars home and drive them around, he said.

"Neither Kelly nor the Detroit Police Department could immediately provide details on the date and time the car was stripped of its wheels.

"The car was found at Coe Avenue and Parker Street, about 4 miles from General Motors' downtown headquarters, according to a report from Fox News."

I’ll bet the #1 searched question of the day is

Does the 2020 Corvette come with an alarm system?

"The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette was named the Free Press Car of the Year and is expected to have a base price of $58,900."

I wonder if that's with or without wheels?

I doubt the car was stolen. I think it had the wheels stolen from right where its at. Why was it parked in that neighborhood? Also seen a post showing someone actually selling the wheels. He stated that he changed his mind and needs em gone asap. Dude...the car isn't even out yet! AND how dumb can someone be to post them for sale???

Rick Hendrick [[NASCAR) paid 3 million for the first one,the entire amount was raised by GM and goes to the Detroit children’s fund, which is pretty cool

I use a club on my Jeep. I can't afford bananas for me, let alone a trunk monkey.

Those are the best older commercials ever - thank god Geico picked up the baton and kept going.

This is a funny story except that you know it's going to be picked up by every media outlet in the world with some comment about Detroit.
