It feels like someone is on top of you holding you down ,sometimes you see a figure other times you cannot because you are being held down face into the bed, or at times like they are throwing you up in the air by your legs slamming your body up and down on the bed

Just wondering if I was the only one that had this problem. I have heard of others but never met anyone.
I only have these symptoms after eating Cheetos and watching porn... until Carpel Tunnel kicks in....

I appreciate everyone that was helpful. I thought I was going nuts for a sec but I see I am not the only one with this problem.

    It seems common

I can see why people are hesitant to talk about something like though.

    Easier than taking a pill.

    Worse side effects, though.

I experienced sleep paralysis several times when I was much, much younger. I would wake up in the middle of the night, become conscious, but couldn't move or open my eyes. In my case there was a curious twist: If I fell back asleep immediately afterwards, I would consistently have a nightmare. Eventually I learned to force myself fully awake immediately after the paralysis passed. Doing so prevented the nightmares. I haven't had the problem since.

I read somewhere that the paralysis is thought to be a remnant of an evolutionary mechanism that protected us from damage that might result from physical movement while reacting to a dream. This dog hasn't enough sleep paralysis: Bizkit. There are several other videos of Bizkit on YouTube.

    Should certainly be free.
What part would you ever charge for in your medical fantasy life?
In fact, you probably owe him some money for incorrect and time wasting answers.

Really, jams, you should quit fooling around and drop this ridiculous pseudonym.

    Some actual valid information:

    PEARLS:
ISP is common, but RISP is thought to be uncommon.
ISP is often associated with hypnopompic hallucinations consisting of visual and auditory hallucinatory experiences which can be intensely frightening to the patient and can sometimes carry deep cultural significance. Physicians should be aware of this fear, and approach questioning regarding this symptom with appropriate sensitivity.
RISP can be precipitated by sleep deprivation, stress, and sleep schedule disruption, so most cases can be managed by simple attention to sleep schedule and hygiene. Other sleep disorders, mental health disorders, and medical disorders which disrupt sleep also should be sought and addressed.
An SSRI can be considered for particularly troubling cases refractory to conservative measures.

Did I imply that it shouldn't have been free East Detroit?

You implied that you knew what you were talking about.

    And obviously, you didn't.
