    Medical students take to the streets to give free care to Detroit's homeless

    Armed with care packages, clothes and clinical supplies, medical students in Detroit are learning outside the classroom. They are putting their knowledge and boots to the pavement, providing free health care to the city's homeless.

    They better hook up with the Law students or the ambulance chasers will eat them alive!

    It may help curtail spread of communicable diseases like the flu, TB, etc that are common in the homeless population.

    That was sadly the first thing that came to my mind. The article says they working under the direction of physicians and NPs so they are doing this under some insurance.
