I-75 Digital Billboard Hacked: Displays Porn

It was just a matter of time before something like this happened. Can we now get rid of those backlit and moving billboards which are distracting enough already?

A pornographic video played on an electronic billboard at the I-75 and M-59 interchange in Auburn Hills on Saturday night, police say.

Auburn Hills Police Department started receiving calls about the graphic images at about 11 p.m., sent officers to the scene and contacted the billboard operator, Canadianbased Triple Properties, to shut down the screen.

Auburn Hills Police Lt. Ryan Gagnon said the vulgar videos played for 15-20 minutes.

It has been determined through our investigation that two suspects entered a small building, which houses a computer that runs the content for the digital billboard, located underneath the sign. The suspects forced entry into the building, which is also secured by a 6 foot fence. The suspects were captured on video inside the building, where they were able to access a computer and play the pornographic video on the billboard. The image below depicts the two suspects from the video:

I have to admit I considered hacking the Utica billboards. It looked like all the electronics were at the base of the pole or at least low enough for a ladder. The big deterrent was that the police station was RIGHT THERE.

Well, yes & no. It is classic in the sense that it's to be expected but instead of porn they should have displayed one of those Pure Michigan parodies. That would have flown under the radar for a much longer time.
