    Default Dream cruise

What is the real reason why the Dream Cruise doesn't extend into Detroit to at least Palmer Park area?

Because the original cruisers back in the 50's and 60's didn't cruise there.

And because it's an older city, built before cars were the main mode of transport,..... which means there is almost no parking beside the road.

1/2 the people cruise,.. and the other half park their hot-rods, pull out their folding chairs and watch other the cars go by. There's almost no where you can do that south of 11 mile.

There was a huge parade of cars that went down and back at 10 or so Sat morning. Police escort and everything.

You are so very wrong! Little Teds was at Nevada and Woodward. It was a major hang out and people would cruise from Little Teds to big Teds on Square Lake rd. and cruise through all the other hangouts like Susie-Q, Maverick’s, Totem Pole, Big Boy and more. On any given weekend you could find at least a dozen neighborhood cars at Little Teds, all low budget but fast as Hell!

From about Woodward and six mile down ending at West Grand Blvd. orange cones were placed in the center of the street forcing Woodward to two lanes north and south bound? Dream Cruise related??

I saw no one working day or at night along this section of Woodward.

Getting all the municipalities along the route to co-ordinate and co-operate would make it more trouble than it would be worth.

Extending South into Detroit has been tried several times. Never really caught on.

Concrete cracking repairs are in progress on that section of Woodward. So far I have only observed the cutting machine sawing the bad spots.

Can confirm. My dad lived in the Corridor and used to reminisce about he and his friends cruising between Little Teds and Big Teds.
