Default Spirit of Detroit statute takes a midnight stroll...

Many, many years ago, some pranksters painted green foot steps from the Spirit of Detroit statute over to the Indian maiden in front of One Woodward Ave., then the "Gas Building" and then back again.

I am looking for a newspaper article describing the incident but haven't found anything yet. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

That was one of the finest and best thought-out pranks I've ever seen. Remember it well, and I would have bought the pranksters dinner if I knew who they were!

Dad was working in the City/County then and I remember him driving us down to see the prints; it was a hoot
