    Just a small update.

    An article posted to Woodtv.com

    Linked here: https://www.woodtv.com/news/national...go-to-toronto/

Discusses this proposal and it being raised at a rail conference in Michigan recently.

Below is a twitter link with a slide presented at said conference:

How come it shows here as service already available?

It's not, You can get a train from Windsor to Toronto. However, You would need to catch the Windsor tunnel bus to get from downtown Detroit to the Windsor station. So it is possible to go From Detroit to Toronto using non-car transit, you just need to ride a bus to do it.

yes and no. You can take the Tunnel Bus, which drops you off in Windsor where you then catch another bus that takes you to just outside the station (you still have to walk to it). It's actually kind of dumb that the Tunnel Bus just doesn't go to the Via Rail station as part of it's route.

Did you bother to check the trainbuster.com site for the routing? Of course, a rhetorical question. The first train listed takes almost 33 hours to make the trip from Detroit to Toronto, via Chicago and Buffalo. A trip on the second train listed on trainbuster only takes 22 hours.

    Better luck next time.

For the tunnel buses, which run every few minutes between the downtowns, to drive a couple of people out to the train station would make no sense, especially when you can easily switch to another bus. It would be cheaper for Windsor Transit to hire a cab or limo for each passenger.

It was a simple question and had little to do with solving the meaning of life or zero to do with luck.

If you follow the purchase ticket link it takes you to Amtrak’s site where you search the route it makes it pretty clear, with times and distance.

So you are saying it is two trains and no buses from Detroit?

Why is it you had difficulty answering a simple question when others were more forthcoming.

If I go to DC from Tampa it is a bus to Orlando then Amtrak to DC with 16 hours of lay overs.

So what they are seeking is a more direct route.
