Very similar to the 2008 floods on the Mississippi system only that year it was Iowa and Illinois that were under water. Amtrak couldn't run trains on it's California Zephyr run for over 3 weeks in June/July. I took that train in mid July that year after the tracks were fixed and we were still riding above flood waters and devastation. You could look down and see railroad ties and rails floating in the water along with cars, dead animals, and other detritus.
