Default Potential tie up between FCA and PSA

What do you think about a possible tie up between FCA and French auto maker PSA? Daniel Howes of The Detroit News, without saying so, gave the impression it might be an idea worth considering.

Groupe PSA is the second largest car company in Europe, and have taken the money losing Opel/Vauxhall off GM's hands and turned a profit with them, something GM hadn't done in years.

I know there has been a lot of speculation on the fate of FCA over the years. What do you think of this idea?

All depends on the nature of the alliance. PSA, like FIAT, builds boring, crappy cars

I can see what PSA would get out of it [[scale in a new market), but what exactly would FCA gain?

I guess FCA would get mid-size cars to sell to people not looking for SUVs without having to make the investment that they have decided is no longer worth it. Some of these people may walk out with an SUV, Crossover or truck. This is why I'm surprised the Detroit 3 have decided to more or less completely walk away from cars. PSA would obviously get a network of dealers.

Profit is made off of Trucks, not little cars.
The upsale of capacity, towing, engines, is what makes money .
