Metro Detroit an affordable area to buy on a average salary

Here is something most of us already know, but here is a list of the top 50 metros in the nation and the salary you need to earn to buy an affordable house in it. We’re very lucky, other than Pittsburgh and Cleveland , Cincinnatti and a few others [[ which are pretty much in the same range ) , you need to earn a lot less per year to buy housing and exist in this area. Can’t imagine how people can possibly afford average housing on either coast for example. We get a lot of bang for the buck here.

Rough calculations suggest they account for 8-10% on top of the mortgage for taxes, insurance, HOA etc

Here in metro Toronto the median price for a semi is 936,000 or 5 Metro Detroits.
