Default RE-use of a High School for Tech

INDUSTRY Detroit is slated to open in 2020
    in the Jefferson Intermediate School
    along the Lodge Freeway,
    just north of downtown.

A new age where creativity is as important as productivity,
    one’s space, co-workers and co-contributors
present the missing link between good and great.

There was a story in Crain's Detroit about this. I hope it is successful!

    https://www.crainsdetroit.com/real-e...e-office-space

-The developer's vision is to export its Industry brand to the building, by which it converts industrial buildings — or in this case, a school — into "modern creative workspaces."

Once complete, the building will feature at least 80,000 square feet of leasable space divided into individual spaces as large as 10,000 square feet. The number of tenants is to be determined. Unlike co-working spaces, tenants of Industry will be locked into leases ranging from one year to 10 years with options for renewal. This structure promotes rental stability and weeds out "transient office users," English said

-While tenants will have individual spaces, the building will be filled with shared amenities for all occupants, including a lobby, conference room, event space, kitchens, recreation areas and restaurants. The facilities are also dog friendly, according to the company's website.

News occurs and is reported in many venues, some read a lot,
others not so much, and far too many just skim over the top.

MasterBlaster figured it all out easy enough

With a development like this, the Wigle Park should be maintained as a park instead of being converted to residential. The park is not only a park but a play field where baseball/softball, football, and basketball can be played. Although the recreation center is long gone, this park could still serve as a gathering spot for the recreational activities I mentioned above as well as a picnic/barbecue area. Skateboarders also use the site where the basketball court used to stand. It is only one of two large parks/play fields in Midtown. It would be a shame to lose it as new residential development and the re-purposing of the school come on line.
