Ball Drops Drops the Ball
The annual Motor City "The Drop" event on New Year's Eve has been canceled this year due to logistics concerns, bad timing and difficulties tracking down the right location. But that doesn't mean you don't have other options for celebrating.
Noon Year's Eve
When: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31
Where: Detroit Historical Museum at 401 Woodward Avenue
Details: At this all-ages event, kids can write time capsule letters, enjoy cookies and hot cocoa. More information here.

Resolution Ball
When: 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31 -3 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1
Where: Fillmore Theatre at 2115 Woodward Avenue in Detroit
