Thanks for sharing. I also saw that the Platform has started working on that former Wayne State building on Cass Avenue north of I-94 that Tata Motors is going to move 150 workers into. The building is going to house retail, an art gallery on the tall 2nd floor, and offices on the 3rd floor and up.

Also, the mixed-use building on Woodward and Baltimore is coming along nicely and is supposed to finish in the next 2 months, so we will see.

Baltimore Station 2 is also under construction on E. Baltimore at John R, next to the White Castle. They're currently doing foundation work. There's also a few retailers renovating vacant storefronts on Woodward between W. Grand and W. Milwaukee.

I would love to know what retail is planning to open on Woodward between Grand Blvd and Milwaukee once the renovations are completed. I had thought that something was going to open in in the renovated spot that is on Woodward southeast corner of Grand Blvd

These are the two stores I was referring to in my earlier post.

It says opening Spring 2018 so they’re behind schedule. They have been actively working on renovating the building and there’s a sign for them in the window.

Another business to open on Woodward in New Center:

    Cooking with Que

-Vegan Chef and Detroit food blogger Quiana Broden will establish a brick-and-mortar kitchen at Woodward Avenue just south of Grand Boulevard.

-The new culinary hub, simply called The Kitchen, will open this summer and form a space for her fans to visit and learn about food. A 16-foot live-demonstration kitchen at the front will host classes and meals, while the back portion of the building will be a shared-space kitchen for Broden and other chefs interested in catering or events.

Also, the Cadillac Place [[former GM Building) was granted an exemption by new legislation that will allow restaurant/bar with liquor licenses to operate in a state government building, so maybe we can expect a nice new restaurant or two at the building in the future.

More housing and grocery developments on the way...

Despite the developments being low/mid rise buildings, one could really envision Grand Boulevard between Oakland and the Lodge becoming a Park avenue-esque strip. The Boulevard at John R and Brush have prime lots.

-I like the new development proposed next to the Fisher Building, although I always held out hope that a big-money developer would complete originally planned 2 other Fisher towers.

-However, I wish more Office Space would come to the New Center and Midtown areas. We will have a situation where alot of young professionals will be living in Midtown and New Center, but driving to work in the suburbs because all of the prime office space is still out there.

-New Center has been an business district for 90+ years, I hope that some developers can build a few large office buildings there so that the people who live in midtown and New Center can also work there as well. New Center is actually losing office space as the Kahn Building will be converted to residential.

I think that boutique such as Ferne should fill up the storefronts that line Woodward between Grand Blvd to Baltimore. I would also love to see Columbia Outerwear factory outlet on that strip as well. Maybe Restoration Hardware could reconsider and move into an empty storefront on Woodward Grand Blvd area or the former John Kimball Bookstore on Cass and I94 service drive
