Default Water main break floods historic Canfield Street

    https://www.freep.com/story/news/loc...eak/855689002/

A broken water main flooded and closed historic blocks of Midtown Detroit turning Canfield Street into a raging river on Saturday, with water moving fast enough to fell a small tree onto parked cars
What caused the leak in a 30-inch line, Brown said, wasn't known yet, but it likely was old age and a lack of maintenance for decades.
"Until we dig it up and see where the stress is and how it broke we won't have a positive answer," he said. "But, you can imagine, that when it was put in in 1886, it wasn't intended to be in for a hundred years."

This wouldn't have happened if they spent the money to paint white lines and put in rubber sticks. They would have had "Safe Streets".
