the national association of black journalists is having their national conference in Detroit August 1 - 5. The last time the organization [[which has its origins in the early 1970s) had its national convention in Detroit was 26 years ago.

The main convention will be held at the Detroit Marriott Ren Cen hotel. There will be related events held throughout the city during the convention week.
