Speaking of bizarre, your response is a mashup of answers to subjects that are completely different from what is quoted. You're seriously claiming that high school graduates will not have a graduation dinner unless the taxpayers build a giant dome for their graduation ceremony?
They will all go hungry if they graduate at a "normal" place like Chene Park or Meadowbrook? Bizarre.
Except there are countless venues that "hold at least 2500 people". Ford Field holds 70,000 people.
Would Ford Field continue to have artificial turf if a retractable roof was installed? Many stadiums with retractable roofs have natural grass. In the MLB, there are six stadiums with retractable roofs. Of those 6 stadiums, 5 have natural grass [[Phoenix, Milwaukee, Seattle, Houston, and Miami) while only Toronto has artificial turf in a retractable roof stadium.
Those are outdoor stadiums that only close their roofs in inclement or hot weather. Ford Field, like Toronto, cannot grow grass.Would Ford Field continue to have artificial turf if a retractable roof was installed? Many stadiums with retractable roofs have natural grass. From what I have read about the situation in Toronto, the main issues with installing natural grass are due to the limitations in the design and age of the retractable roof, which they only open when temperatures above 15 Celsius [[59 Fahrenheit), and the lack of the needed drainage system in the concrete floor surface.
If Ford Field was renovated with a retractable roof for the explicit purpose of making it more conducive to playing soccer, would they not install a roof designed to be opened in temperatures below 59 degrees, like all the other modern retractable roof stadiums, and also install the needed drainage on the field?
In Toronto they stated they would only be able to use the grass for the Jays and no other indoor events could be held, which Rogers is willing to do but still can't make it work. They are looking at a total renovation of the stadium in the next 5 years so who knows what they plan. You could probably build a new outdoor MLS stadium for the cost of putting in a roof, drainage and waterproofing Ford Field. From what I have read about the situation in Toronto, the main issues with installing natural grass are due to the limitations in the design and age of the retractable roof, which they only open when temperatures above 15 Celsius [[59 Fahrenheit), and the lack of the needed drainage system in the concrete floor surface.
