I like how the article turns Penske's broad engagement with Detroit philanthropy into a concern about conflicts of interest.

Whether we should hold a Grand Prix on Belle Isle is a valid issue for debate.

Tossing dirt towards Penske given how much he's done for Detroit is misguided. Does anyone serious think Penske stacks these organizations for personal gain?

Detroit could use more conflicts of interest created by businessmen who love their city so much they put countless hours and dollars into civic support across multiple organizations.
