Default Detroit is #1 and #2....

"There's no question Detroit has its shortcomings and struggles. And you expect to hear about them a lot when you come across lists such as this one.

24/7 Wall St. has unveiled its latest list of 50 Worst Cities to Live and, for the second consecutive year, the Motor City sits smack-dab at the top of the list.

    Detroit in other rankings:

    • Detroit is the No. 2 city in the world to visit, Lonely Planet says
    • Detroit is America's 2nd-worst place to find a job, study says"

Another article that uses stats to draw wrong conclusions: The unemployment rate is twice the national avg. therefore it's a terrible place to find a job. We all know the unemployment rate is high because so many of its residents are unqualified for the tons of jobs available.

Sorry, not trying to highjack your thread, but this article is even more intriguing... My first time seeing this and it was published in 2013.

Thanks. Excellent article.. $3.3 billion in debt in 1959.... Detroit never diversified its economy. It was lucky many times over.. fur trading, stove making, wagon wheels, autos.. WWII then bust big time...Nothing came after WWII demand.. autos were quickly being assembled and manufactured elsewhere.. Detroit kept on borrowing thinking manufacturing would return.. but it didnt... automation hurt too,. Poor leadership that didn't have the foresight to seek other industries....

Not the first time they've done it. Probably not even written by someone in Detroit.

247Wallst.com has never had anything nice to say about Detroit. It's just a clickbait mill that gets web traffic by misinterpreting data.
