Is it made of Legos? I can do Legos. Cheap soap and pregnancy tests I can do without.

And don't watch China Uncensored on YouTube because, oh no here they come aaaaaahhhhhhhhh.

We'll know soon enough if this is beyond comedy. In the meantime I'll set aside the scoffing as this could mess up a Sunday or any day for that matter.

Dailymail may end up being reliable on this one! China's probably too embarrassed to discuss much beyond parsing, right up thru re-entry.

I wonder which would be worse, the impact of a 8.5 ton object slamming like an asteroid,or the toxic chemicals.

After it hits the ground, maybe I can convince NASA that the old washing machine in my back yard was part of the space station and they’ll haul it away.

Not quite as dire as all this sounds. The pink is the "highest likelihood" area

So what they're saying is, it's highly likely to hit Earth.

    Thin Yellow Line
near orbital paths indicates highest crash probability - where is Detroit?

    Read all about it: https://www.mirror.co.uk/science/chi...ong-1-12237319

The Mirror ... not exactly a definitive source, but.

My concern is a lot of debris will land in the unpopulated areas on the East Side and no one will notice.

This looks like a good example of how different statistical techniques can lead to seemingly contradictory predictions.

    Two different prediction techniques:
    1. the single most likely outcome, or
    2. the probability that the outcome will fall within some range.

The latter can be done with regression analysis.

With regression analysis, the wider the range around the single most likely outcome, the more likely the outcome will fall within that range. That makes sense.

The paradox appears when you shrink the range around the single most likely outcome. As the range shrinks, the probability approaches zero until the single most likely outcome appears to have zero probability.
