Default Bad Year for Federal Judges in Detroit

Doing some recollections, I found that Judges Charles Joiner, Julian Abele Cook and Anna Diggs Taylor all died in 2017. I knew Joiner a bit, but spent time talking to Cook and Taylor in their Chambers.

Surprised to find that Damon Keith's ticker is still ticking though. Odd the things you remember, but Keith had a huge fish tank in his Chambers.

We have our shared of long-lived, healthy judges. Judge Avern Cohn, who was born in the early years of the Coolidge Administration, continues to hear cases for the Eastern District in Detroit.
