Art Van Elslander, the founder of Michigan-based Art Van Furniture, has passed away at the age of 87.

The Van Elslanders have a long history of philanthropy and have been honored by several local organizations throughout the years

From his age, he would have been just a couple years behind my father at Denby.

Art Van had a store on E. Warren in Detroit back in the 1960s. My parents had some receipts for their furniture from that store, which from the address would have been at E. Warren and Lakeview.
