    Default I-94 Chandler Park Golf

Does anyone know why I-94 rises to street level at the golf course?

Kinda related but my dad lived along the golf course as a kid. When 94 came through they had their house moved as it was in the path. He used to collect golf balls from along the fence and sell them back to the guys.

Chandler Park had extended to Harper Ave.
Building this section of 94 at grade was path of least resistance.

Freeway ended at Connor for a few years. No need to bury it when it wasn't passing next to homes.

The portion of Interstate 94 that is at grade by Chandler Park is where Connor Creek runs through giant concrete tubes on it's way to the water plant on 8 Mile between Groesbeck and Van Dyke. It would have been extraordinarily expensive to bury the tubes even deeper to allow for Interstate 94 to be built below grade.

Nah, the Conner Creek sewer is below Conner Ave, about 18 feet below ground and 94 is below grade as it passes under Conner. Remember, it was just a creek. Runs through two 12' x 17' cement box tubes in that area.

Ran right thru g-g-grandparents[[s) farms at street level.
