    Default Noted Architect Irving Tobocman Has Died. Baruch Dayan Ha'Emet!

    Noted architect Irving Tobocman was killed yesterday, at the age of 84, in an automobile crash. He created many innovative residential and commercial designs in metro Detroit from the 1950s to the present.

    That’s unfortunate. I worked for Irv doing drywall and did some work in his home in Birmingham back in the late 90’s. His house was really something!

    Here's an interview in Seen magazine [[?) with a short interview of Tobocman. The closing quote:

    You have to be mindful of what you leave behind. Architecture is not fashion, and sooner or later, all of those ‘isms’ become ‘wasms’.”
