Default Miguel Cabrera in child-support suit with Florida woman

Detroit Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera is being sued by a Florida woman who says the two-time Most Valuable Player isn’t paying enough to support two children he fathered with her, setting up a legal showdown that could cost the superstar more than $100,000 a month.

The allegations are contained in court records obtained by The Detroit News that chronicle a public fight over money and offer insight into the personal life of a married, intensely private, baseball player who has three children with his wife of 15 years, Rosangel.

Back problems......right, try mistress/child-support payments & an angry wife to deal with.

"The court documents, 193 pages and growing, are surfacing weeks after the end of Cabrera’s worst season in his Hall-of-Fame-caliber Major League Baseball career".

I was told that when the team was on the road, after a couple of alcohol related incidents, Dumbrowski used to have a baby sitter following Cabrera around. Guess that didn't work out perfectly.

Lots of thoughts popped into my mind, but the last thing I want to do is to offend the readers and contributors to DetroitYes, so I'll just sit here and stew.

$100,000 = about 5 innings of play at his rate.

It's a combination of problems from hurting his back in the world baseball classic to the personal like and also not having a real manager to try and kick him in the ass. The woman looks fun that he was messing with just not that fun.

In Florida all the woman has to do is petition the IRS which controls CS and she automatically has the full funding from the state and its legal team at no cost to her.

    So why the lawyer?

The court ordered payee can petition to do a reduction according to a drop in salary where he has to prove the decrease the income, she in turn can petition to increase the monthly if she can prove that his salary has gained.

The question is more so if two people are together and have a child, they then separate the relationship and the man goes on to win the lottery is the child entitled to a percentage of the winnings because if they were still in a relationship he would have benefited.

That is why they were pushing the whole she was following him around the country and posting it on social media,in order to try to establish that they were still in an ongoing relationship, weather they were or not, that is why she has a lawyer.

Either they were still messing around or she was encouraged to have a documented paper trail in order to create an illusion of doubt.

If one is married with children and then divorced and the man remarries a wealthy woman upgrading his stature in life are the children entitled to the same benefits as if the relationship was still the same as the time of marriage?

If the woman remarries wealthy in life and the man has custody from her previous marriage are the children entitled to the same standard of living,or if she is living in a million dollar house she must now provide the same arrangements for the children from the previous marriage.

I have never seen that happen.

This is going to end up in the supreme court and be a rule changer.

If he was trying to shirk responsibility with his means he could have placed everything in trust and paid himself a small salary.

More back pain....Miguel Cabrera’s wife of 15 years filed for divorce just prior to the start of the 2017 baseball season, another off-field distraction the Tigers’ superstar slugger was facing as he struggled through the worst year of his professional career.

She must have had a change of heart, because she rescinded the divorce papers, and they are still married. With all that drama and health issues going on in his life, no wonder he had the worst season of his career. Hope he bounces back, he's a extraordinary hitter, when he's right.

Miguel needs to pay her. Yes, she's a gold digger - but he "dug" her enough to father 2 kids with her. Besides, after looking at his career salary, reducing it by about 55% [[several internet searches show that pro athletes take home roughly 45% of their salary after paying taxes, agents, etc), and basic math - what she wants is only about 1.7% of his career take home pay. I know a lot of guys who don't play pro sports that would love to only have to pay 1.7% of their take-home pay in order to fulfill child support payments. Miguel - pay her, and keep your d*&! in your pants.
