Default Staying safe in Detroit? How is it done?

Detroit is not as dangerous as the 'cartoon stereotypes' of The D would have you believe.

Nevertheless, Detroit has similar dangers [[in some areas) as every major US city.

This is a bit of a general question, but how do you stay safe [[or advise others to stay safe) in the City of Detroit?

I've lived in the "city of Detroit" all my life, and I can tell you that this city isn't as dangerous as you think.

Like most cities, it has its dangerous areas.

Here, most of those who may be tourists, will stick to the riverfront midtown and north-end areas.

Stay out of Highland Park, and you'll be fine. No, seriously. Unless you know someone that lives there, stay away from there and you'll be fine.
