Saw work going on this morning on my way into work. Anyone know what's going on?

According to the Detroit Historic District Commission, they are repairing the cornice.

If Olympia is serious about making Columbia between Woodward and Park a pedestrian space with retail and other things, I imagine they don't want the entry to be between two abandoned, blighted buildings.

It's about time! It's remarkable that unlike so many others, that cornice remains. Buildings that have been stripped of them look imbalanced without them. Glad they're finally repairing it before it's too late.
