Top story on Michigan Chronicle is:
    https://michronicleonline.com/2017/0...ns-is-g-o-n-e/

The entirety of the text is

“U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is G-O-N-E,” so says nationally recognized legal and political analyst A. Scott Bolden. Follow Scott on Twitter, @asbthelaw. [[Coverage provided by Global Social Media News)"

Then, it seemed, three or four videos started playing simultaneously on the web page. I have no idea what kind of news this is, so no to this one.

The top story on this site is sponsored content from the Ford Foundation. There are no dates or times on any of the stories posted. So, no to this one.

Seems to post one article a month. Three of the stories on the front page are about honoring celebrities. So no to this one.

The latest story here is about the health care bill that failed to pass congress, two months ago. So no to this one.

I listen to NPR to get general news, then read some specialist blogs about foreign affairs and economics for that type of news. Not a lot of good local reporting, unfortunately. I'll skim the headlines on the Free Press and Detroit News, maybe listen to WDET a bit. Once in a blue moon the Metro Times will pull a rabbit out of a hat and have some insightful investigative piece. Mostly it seems to be shlocky tabloid journalism, though, not much different from most of what else is out there.

Ever since the 2008 financial fiasco and then compounded the 2016 election fiasco plus the resulting hysteria, I have come to live by the old adage of 'Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see'. Then it's become apparent that to believe half of what you see can't be relied upon.

It's become a problem of what they don't want you to see or hear.

It's what is Not in the particular media you choose rely on...

True news or fake news - you decide

""three of the eight mayoral hopefuls have faced gun charges
two for assault with intent to commit murder
and a fourth candidate pleaded guilty to a non-gun charge years ago.
While some of these cases date back to the 1970s, some are more recent.
Under Michigan state election law, convicted felons can vote
and run for office, so long as they are not incarcerated
or guilty of crimes breaching public trust.""

I say true - with one more - who wanted a field trip here - from prison
