    Default Structure - Near 8 Mile and Meyers

    Does anyone know what is that real tall skeletal structure that on westbout 8mile road at meyers? Is that some type of cell phone tower?

    I believe it's WWJ's transmission tower.

    Most cellphone towers have three sets of three vertical antennas. The antennas within each set are in the same plane.

    Lorax is correct. The building next door that reads "WWJ" sort of gives it away.

    That's perhpas one of the cutest little Art Deco buildings I've seen. They should restore it, and get rid of the chain link fence.

    That is the tallest antenna I had seen on eightmile. How tall is it.

    Approximately 1,060 feet.

    I believe the station building is an Albert Kahn Associates work.

    It's the new tower which hosts both the analog and digital antennas for WWJ-TV, WBWD, and WTVS.

    Ever since the messy consolidation took place back in the early to mid 2000s [[between UPN and WB networks), the station's call signal was changed to WMYD.

    You had said it is over 1,000 feet. What structure does metro detroit has that is taller than that?
